914/6 Heater flapper boxes

Hi all,
I'm restoring my genuine '70 2.0 Porsche 914/6. I finally found a pair of OEM heat-exchangers, but still need the heater flapper boxes which attaches to the heat-exchangers in order to direct hot air into the interior compartment.

My question is:
Does anybody know if these flapper boxes are interchangeable between the 4-cylinder's and the 6's heat exchangers? They seems to be different parts, given the different parts nrs, but on pictures they look quite the same. Is the difference of parts nr because of aftermarket (Dansk) vs (Porsche) OEM parts, or is it really specific to the 6's heat exchangers? In anyway, the boxes for the 911 of the same era look quite different and also have different parts nrs.
I would appreciate any advice! Thanx and Merry Xmas to you all!

Actually, the heater flapper boxes were different between a 4 and a 6. The original six heater flapper boxes had a hole in the end of the the exhaust cover. Why, I don't know....

There is no functionality difference. Porsche discontinued the six flapper boxes and superceded them with the four cylinder ones.

Yes you are correct, the 4 banger one's fit my factory 914-6 heat exchangers with no modifications.

Hey, you are both right. The 6 heater flapper boxes are different but you can use the 4s on the 6 heat exchangers. Unless you are a concours nut, but then you have far greater issues ;>)
