Boxster or Monoblocks on a 914?
Ok here's the deal. I sold my 914-6 conversaion a few years ago and kick myself everyday the sun comes out. I have the bug to start a new project again, learning from my mistakes of old. I have searched the forums about brake upgrades, but only found (1) post about boxster brakes and it did not answer my questions. So here it goes.
1) What bolt spacing do the boxster brakes have 3.5" or is it different? 2) What size master-cylinder would you use with these brakes. 3) I realize that these breaks are different, but is there that much difference between the Boxster Brakes, and the Alloy S's, or 944 Turbos? Or is it just my teenage boyracer coming out ![]() 4) What years of front suspension can be used with these brakes if converted? 5) Finally has anyone done it, What did it cost, was it worth the money, and can anyone post any pics? Thanks for any help. |

1. AXIAL mount. needs an adapter.
2. Personal preference 3. Boxsters are way bigger. followed by 944T, then AL S calipers 4. up to 89 will bolt into a 914. all late brakes need adapters 5... search

There has been some discussion on this topic on the 914club.com. Even a few members (can't remember so search) make the adapters.

That's perfect, thanks for the photos Echo.
It looks like the rears are standard 914 trailing arms that have been re-drilled for 5-lug? And a S or SC front strut? Am I correct, or is there more to what is there than I can see. That looks absolutley awesome. ![]() |

Carrera front struts
Standard rear trailing arm modified for 911 e-brakes utilizing the stock bearing, early 911 stubs and axels 19mm master radial adapters connect the calipers and banjo fittings for the brake lines to clear the trailing arms thats about it. |
