so cal fun run.. & semi update on turbo progress

fun run / BS session planned for this weekend.. just in case there's some of you out there that aren't on the rennlist, but would like to join.. info at http://www.malmz.com/polarbearrun/

turbo:
some might remember i'm pursuing the turbo-4 project.. the first of it's *type* right now (i'm sure there have been others before this, but i haven't found any surviving examples), modelled after other great examples, like Ed V.'s CIS turbo 2.0, and Sam's ex-carbed pull-through 2.0.. i'm doing the "conventional" blow-through 2.0..
the pipes are mostly in, plumbing is about 80% done, here's a movie clip of the sound of the engine with the turbo attached..

Wow, what an intense project you've got on your hands! I have a few questions...How much time has/will this take for you to complete? Also, why aren't the links on your web page working? Keep us posted on the progress...

i can get "mobility" in about 3 days AFTER i get some critical parts.. currently having some problem locating silicone connectors for the turbo.. after it starts moving, it'll probably take another month before it's some-what tuned.. and then i'll have to finish up the rest of the projects associated with the car..

at the current moment.. the front now has 911 struts, 12.08" rotors, 4 piston volvo turbo calipers, turbo tie rods, 19mm sway bar, 22mm torsion bars

front mount oil cooler

the relay/fuse box is relocated to the front trunk

the car *will* get a wilwood adjustable prop valve, and i need to fab a custom intake that's 1" high, and about 3' wide that runs across the bottom of the car, in front of the flaps, and catch the air and direct it into my intercooler..

that's it for now.. i think, and then i just have to blend in the fenders, and paint it..

oh.. forgot.. also going in are the Crane HI-6TR (timing retard, for the turbo), a rising rate fuel regulator, and a hobbs switch to kick on the 5th injector at boost..

Wow. repeat.
Will you have a parking brake?
Dave

not in the near future.. i've been without e-brake for a while.. since i swapped to BMW up front, and stock fronts in the rear.. there *is* plan for a future project of doing a spot caliper inboard on a motocycle rotor mounted to the CV joint.
