914 top renewal

I have 71 914/6. The outside of the top does not look that great any more. Does anyone have any thoughts on what products I could use to get orginal look back?

There is a product called Forever Black. I have used it on my top, and it seems to work. You have to give it a couple of coats but it will make it black again. Unless you mean the top is looking really worn in areas, this stuff would be your best bet. I can't remember who sellse the stuff, but I got it from a company on the internet and it cost around 12 ro so.

Hope this helps, Paul.

I don't know if this will help as this post is a bit late. I just found this forum it's great. What I am going to do is sand the top down and have it sprayed with a truck bed liner. It seems to have the same texture and the durability should be outstanding. Just an idea. SVS

If the top is otherwise in good shape, I agree with Paul about the "Forever Black" product. I used it on my car with excellent results. Search this BB for former posts on this topic. As I recall, the website for the product has been listed here before.
