I have a FI 2.0 that I am converting to carbs. There are hoses that run from the corners of the heads to a y that used to go to the air cleaner. What should I do with these hoses now? Can I just plug the vents?

I wouldn't just plug them. That will potentially lead to a build up of pressure in the case. Most people run lines from the two heads and from the oil filler to a common catch like a big bottle or something.
That said, the PO had carbs on the engine that was originally in the car and plugged them. Paul |

The PO of my last 914 had a very nice aftermarket breather system added to it. The three hoses all ran to a stainless steel casing attached to the rear firewall. Its called a closed loop system, no catch can involved.
I have tried to find it online, but no luck, I think it was from another model Porsche? I would not just plug these hoses off. There are simple ways to keep them doing their job, while adding your carbs.
