Dash Face
I destroyed my dash plates removing the PO's rotted wooden dash face. So at this point I dont have plates (or anywhere to get them) or usable wood.
Does anyone have the measurements or ideally a template to use to make a one or two piece dash face out of wood? I have seen the pricey 4 piece ones, but want to fabricate my own from 1/4 or 3/4 inch wood (padauk or maybe brazilian cherrywood). Thanks, Gary

Gary - Just went through making my dash, but was able to remove the sheet metal under pieces w/o any problem. I have most of the removed vinyl pieces (need to find the one that goes around the stereo). Let me know if you are interested?
I did mine with a wood veneer - came out pretty good ...

Yeah, I did mine in cherry, and the top of the dash (by the windshield) all ggod but the windshield part couldnt take the heat and bubbled...veneer is best (thin and "lighter is faster")
