The Chattanooga region of PCA held an event yesterday caled Winterfest. My car was in great shape so I decided I would go up and see the cars. I thought I might even enter the car show. As I thought about it more and looked at my car, I decided to enter the concours. I have spent all my money on car parts, so I knew I would have to drive up the day of the event. The pres of my PCA region (with a FINE GT-3), and one other member of our local PCA group drove up the previous night. It is only 100 miles from here, but it is in an earlier time zone and the agenda said concours registration was from 8:00 to 9:00. That meant I had to leave at like 4:30 am. In the Morning. In the dark. Really dark. Well the freezing rain was forcast to start between 3:00 and 5:00 and it wasn't raining at 4:10 when my alarm went off. It started about 5:30 about 50 miles from home. by the time I got there, there were icecicles hanging from the airdam like a pointy overbite. Amazingly, I had packed a spray bottle with diluted windshield washer fluid, so I sprayed and wiped and voila! So here is a pic of the "scrutineering". Of course I didn't win anything, but it was a lot of fun. All that fuss over MY CAR! In fact, a buncha people(people with fine cars btw) looked closely and spoke favorably of my little car. it was really a great experience. The competition was pretty fierce. jim's GT-2 is kinda OK, there was a 911 turbo from '98 with only 75 miles on it. And one 914 with a 3.2 conversion that was as shiney in the luggage compartment as my whole exterior. I believe I'll enter another, though. The guy with the perfect 914 told me important things for the future. So did the judges. check it out...
