Carbs for a 2.0-4 ???

I've got a 74 2.0-4 that has fuel injection issues. I want to take the fi off and install a set of carbs that will be good for low to mid range rpm's - a fun city car. I do not care about gas consumption.

I know I'll get a bunch of "keep the fuel injection" but I really just want the simplicity of carbs.

I'd like to do this as cheap as possible and find a used dual carb setup. What do you all reccomend?

Thanks-
Craig Backer

if you must, for a 2.0 with the f.i. cam, a set of 40idfs will work pretty good. you'll need a new fuel pump. get the rotary from cbperformanc. internally fuel presure regulated, and quiet. get tomlinson's weber manual when you're ordering too.

Craig: I've been putting twin Solex single 40's on the cars and what I find is that the distrebutor is very improtant in the conversion. I have 2 running with carbs and one is 009 the other is 010 (356 dist.). The 010 works much better then the 009. The last conversion I did was on a 1.7 and did it for under $800.00 including an Igniter in the dist. Fule pump/regulator, linkage, carbs and berathers. Linda is very happy with the conversion and is now doing other things to her car now that she is not spending all of her wages on the F****** FI. Now the car starts every time she asks it to.
New bumpers ($1200)
Polished Mahles ($300)
Air Horn ($40)
