I've seen several postings refering to rolling the fenders with a baseball bat for clearance around the tires. I think I get the general idea behind it, but would like to hear from some who have done it. I've got the 911S flares welded on the back, but the fronts are stock and straight. I'd really hate to make a mess of them. Any technics, tips, tricks or related sites would be a great help.

I rolled my GT fenders last month. Its fairly straightforward. I had to pile on number of concrete bags I had laying around since my engine/trans were out. I used a wood bat and started about 8 inches from the bottom. Just go slow. A smooth effort is what it needs. I have seen these fenders rolled all the way around but you really just want the top center rolled up as high as possible. I dont have paint on the car yet so I cant comment on what it would do to a paint job. -Rich Hilgersom |

I rolled the rear fenderlips on my car with a bat, and did experience some paint-cracking. After it was done, I found out it wasn't even necessary...running 205/50-15 Yokohama Advan-032R tires on the Mahle 15 x 5 1/2 wheels.
