What Web Cam should I use (pros/cons)
Im fixing to get a Web Cam and need to know which one I should get. The Carb cam or the Performance Cam (both on this sites catalog). My setup is a 1.7(stock crank) with 1.8 heads, 96mm pistons and Jugs, and Dual Webber 40s. I want the best performance cam I can get without modding the heads. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

The guys to ask would be the cam people themselves....just DON"T get a hydralic cam...

The "carbeureted performance cam" (WCAM-152) would be the one, then. You will probably lose a little bit off of the bottom end, but get back more in the upper RPM range. Web-cam says this one is good from 2500-5500.
The "racing cam" (WCAM-232) is probably not for a street car. Web-cam recommends uprated valve springs for use with this cam, so that goes against the "no modding the heads" rule you stipulated. --DD |
Not being familiar with any part numbers, other than web's grind #s, I would go with the 73 grind for moretorque, and the 86 for a wider powerband....
If you do some spring work, the 86A is a great cam..It gives power everywhere, I use all of these with about 7.7:1 CR for best results, and tuning. ------------------ Jake Raby Raby's Aircooled Technology www.aircooledtechnology.com |
