What Race seat for a 5'10" 230 lb man? HELP
I am trying to decide on a seat, but my in my area there is nowhere to look and sit in any to try them out. I'll be ordering via the internet.
I'm looking at the SPARCO Sprint and the CORBEAU Forza now, but will consider others. Is there anyone my size that can recomend a seat?

You might want to check the article I have in the tech section on mounting a race seat. It is an aluminum that gives about 2 inches more inside room than the SPARCO Sprint and the CORBEAU Forza you are considering. There are several brands such as Kirkey or Ultra-Shield. I used the Ultra-Shield since Dave Turner Motorsports in san Diego has recommended them for years and they are well made, etc. Good luck.

Corgeau Forza large
I have the standard Forza. But I am only 155 lbs 5'9 the biggest person I gave a ride to was 5'8 and 180. Her hips just squeezed in. But Corbeau makes a wide version of the forza. check thier site for size dimensions. Should still fit in car as I have 6-8" inbetween the seats. But I can just get to the parking brake handle. I guess you could adjust where you put the seat in relation to the factory rails.

The tricky part is getting into the seat with your backside sliding down the side bolsters and your belt buckle against the steering wheel. Not all that easy with stock seats and targa panel in place.

I think I am about the same size as you are and my daughter is about 6ft and we both fit in easily. The inside is actually a little loose for me but fits her well. The problem with getting a wide tube framed seat is it will interfere with the shifter since the seat tubes and padding add about 1.5 inches on each side to the inside measurement. If you put in a cage with door bars such as I have then you will be limited on the left side too. The only thing I did was to make my own lumbar padding from foam and glue it to the removable pad for the seat. The best thing to do if possible is to take the car to a race shop and try several brands of seats inside the car with you sitting in them but that is pretty hard to do. Good luck.

John, I talked to ultra shield and they recommend a 17" seat for me.
What width are yours and what degree is the back? They said they have 10 and 20 degree. Thanks, Duane

I think ours is a 17 inch and 10 degree layback. I got the black cover too. Good luck.
