How difficult is it to remove the engine tin on the right side of the motor (while it is still in the car) to inspect the top of the stock oil cooler? Despite adding an external oil cooler per Pete Dubler's tech article, my '76 2.0 is still not staying quite as cool as I'd like. Next step is to check that my stock oil cooler is relatively free of debris.

I know I posted about this in length a while ago, but not sure what the topic of the thread was.
As far as difficult, not really...but can get frustrating. I am assuming you have fuel injection, so most, if not all of that has to come off. To make it easier, you might want to remove the distributor. Then, you just have to undo all the screws that hold that side of the engine tin down and then wiggle it around until it will come out. It took me about 30 minutes to an hour to get it off, and it is a little quicker putting it back on once you know what to expect. If I can find the post, I will link to it for you.
