Gas tank leaking at bottom
I have been smelling gas for a while and now I just noticed a small sleak right at the bottom of the tank where there are 2 looks like bronze plugs. Is there a easy way to fix this or do I need to pull the tank for this.

Try tighting them? If that dosen't work you have to drain the tank and remove the fittings and apply teflon tape to the threads and reattach them.

Teflon tape and gas dont mix. The teflon tape will be eaten by the gas. Try tighten the big nuts first if that doesnt work then you need new sealing washers inside. Would be a good time to change the screen too while your at it.

What are these nuts for?
Nothing is going to them, my hard lines go to the top of the tank. |

Gotta pick?
The feed and return lines are at the bottom of the tank. The only lines on top would be coming from the expansion tank and are for venting only... |

You must have a modified tank of some sort. The bottom nuts were for the feed and return fuel.
Any pictures of your tank.

OK Images are from the bottom where the 2 leaky nuts are, and one from the top where the fuel lines run into the tank.

The leaky plugs are the original feed and return lines. Those things on the top, indeed, that whole plate they go into, is some PO's bodge. The gas cap isn't original, and there's supposed to be an expansion tank around the filler neck, which obviously won't fit with those feed/return lines there.

WARNING!! look how your clamps are cutting into the fuel line. get a hand full of these. note the shouldered aspect of these clamps. i don't understand why the po chose to pull the fuel up thru the top of the tank. i would rethink that modification. where is the fuel pump located?

yea I noticed that. I'll have to redo the ends, maybe convert to AN fittings. The pump is in tank, its the stock pickup out of an 87 camaro.

save your money, just get the clamps. you're going to have to figure out how to permanently seal the stock outlets. sending you a pm.
