Unhappy conversion wire harness woes

The saga continues . . .

The engine wiring harness that came with my 2.7 engine is brittle (and has many cuts and bruises) I'm also finding some 'unique' rewiring that was done by the po (some good -- the alternator has a built-in voltage regulator).

Does anyone have any idea how much a new wiring harness for a '75 CIS injected car is? What should a _good_ used (less brittle) harness run? Or, should my ohmeter and I tough it out, replacing wire runs as I go? TIA, guys!
