Post best gas prices

http://www.gaspricewatch.com

Everybody should become a spotter to help keep the gas price data base accurate and up to date. That way we can drive our teeners for the cheapest price possible
Prices are going to skyrocket this summer

At least in California, it will soon be very difficult to find gasoline under $2 a gallon, at least for the summer. Even will all the available refineries producing full bore, the demand has recently been hovering around 97% of available supply. The tosco refinery near LA harbor is experiencing a major fire right now, which appears to be in their coker unit. This will probably result in at least a 40 to 70% reduction in production at that refinery, at least for several weeks to months. Remember the gas rationing we had 20 some odd years ago?
Before anyone starts blaming the big, bad oil companies for all this, take a good look at those politicians who have supported the leglislative destruction of the oil and utility buisness' over the past 20 years.
We will soon have very clean air as we starve and shiver in the dark.
Sorry for the rant.
BTW, in January 2003, MTBE will be completely eliminated. This will result in an instant reduction in supply of around 7%. Not good.

You all in Colorado get off e-z last time I checked it was about $.80 per gallon tax here.Steve ps the Artic Reserves are said to have three to six times as much oil as in Saudia Arabia, the area the want to drill is a 5x20 mile patch so small you wouldn't even see it on a map of Alaska.

Gasoline in Texas hasn't hit the $2 mark that I know of. But... My Jaguar requires 93 octane.. this weekend I took a trip to central Texas. Prices were the same-to-lower than in Houston. I noted prices of major brands with a low of $1.639 to a high of $1.799. I do not blame the refiners but the vendors. I noted the price variations between same brands as being higher along freeways or shopping center areas with lower prices in less traveled areas. Sixteen cents per gallon difference sure seems to me to be the vendor trying to get all he can for the moment.
