Fuel Injection item needed Cross reference to available Type 1 FI part needed

Now looking for boot (Pelican Host doesn't list it).
Found this on eBay (for Type 1 Bug engine post 1975).
Question to all gurus will it be correct replacement for my 1974 1.8L 914 type 4 motor's F.I.??

no

Why not? Are the openings a bad fit or is the length of the boot too short?

Try putting a "WTB" ad in Pelican's 914 used parts forum. I did this a couple of weeks ago for a fairly hard to find transmission part and found a seller within a week or so. Also, check out some of the other 914 classifieds or contact some of the ebay sellers who sell used 914 parts and ask them if they have the part.

I don't know the whys and wherefores, but I'd be surprised if the diameter of the boots, and the length, and the curvature of them was the same.

You may be able to repair yours (I've heard of Shoe Goo and rubberized tool-handle dip being used) or you might be able to fake one up from PVC pipe and silicone hoses (e.g., intercooler hoses).

The 1.8 boots have been NLA for a while now, as I recall. :(

Are you looking for the "S" shaped boot the feeds air into the throttle body? I may have a usable one available. I will check my stash if this is what you need.

Dave 56,

According to PET the part number is 022.129.967T for 1.8L 1974 model year. PM me if you have a usable one for sale (no tears or holes of course!). Thanks for looking.
