Carb Install
I'm installing a set of dual Weber 34 ICTs in my 71 1.7. What is the fuel line setup? Are there fuel lines going into each carb or just one with a tee fitting splitting both lines? Also is a fuel regulator necessary? Thanks in advance.

A brass tee is just what the doctor ordered.
DO NOT use the factory FI pump with carbs, at 30+ psi the factory pump would make your carbs into gasoline foutains! It might be possible to regulate the stock pump down but I highly recommend a facet or equal. I just completed a Weber 40IDF conversion. I used a regulator which is mounted on the firewall. There is a 6" section of hose out of the regulator that is one of the three connections on the tee, the two carbs being the others. Keep the fuel lines short and as far away from the motor as possible. |

I agree with Victor, but would like to add that more important than regulating the fuel supply you must syncronize the carbs. Either by ear (a piece of vaccuum hose stuck in your ear, and listen for the same amount of hissing. Not real accurate) the other is to use a syncronizer thingy they sell with carb kits, I think they are about $40. I have seen single carbs with the Facet pump and no regulator, they seemed to work O.K. (as well as a single carb can work with a FI cam). Another thing I recomend (like that holds any weight) the Haynes "Techbook" 10240 "Weber Carburetor Manual" it dosen't list a 34 ICT but it should still help as far as tuning or rebuilding.
