Installing Fuel Injection
 

I bought my 914 with carberation already on it. most of the circt board in the corner has been bypassed into a web of wire. When I examined the board The relays crumbled apart. Anyway I got a used engine for it and used my old carberation (new how to hook it up) the engine came with the later fuel injection on it (D-jetronic i think). well one of my carbs just went bad. i think it might be cheaper to replace the board and injectors to just go back to fuel injection. my question is, Does anyon have a decent wireing diagram or soething that shows where to place all the wires, how hook it up, and where and to what everyting gos on the fuel injection. I have never dealt with one before.

A 1.8 motor would have L-jetronic FI on it. A 1.7 or 2.0 motor should have D-jetronic FI on it. The D-jet uses a silver hand-grenade like thing with one wire bundle (four wires) and one vacuum hose hooked to it to measure engine load. The L-jet uses a swinging-flap air meter in between the air filter and the rubber pipe to the throttle body.

You'll need at least some of the relays for the D-jet system. I don't think you need any of them for the L-jet system, though one of them does control the heater blower regardless of the fuel system used in the car.

Well its a D-jetronic. i got the engine from an 79 transporter (i am poor) i took all the fuel injection and the control box from the engine compartment. I want to figure out how to put this fuel injection back on the engine (right) and where te wires go that have been pulled off the old board and bypassed fter i buy a new board
