Question transmission question...

Will a 915 5 speed transmission, mate to a 914-4 motor? I have an extra laying around, and am thinking about giving it a try. Any input would be appreciated.

Yes it will mate up, but you need to swap the ring gear. Also a special assy for shifting. And a special clutch assy.
I think it is better to use the 901 gear box.

From what I recall hearing, it is "straightforward" to 914-ize a 915 trans, but it will cost you $1500-2500 to do it....I'd stick with the 901 unless I was pushing 400+HP
