Window Seals

Since installing new targa top side seals on both the driver and passenger sides, the upper rear portion of side glass windows do not seal properly, and allow alot of air/noise to come through. Is there a way to adjust the glass angle? Many Thanks in advance!

On our 1974, you can adjust the angle of the glass/front track and also the height. The angle is adjusted at the bottom, there is a screw and nut assembly and the panel does not have to come off. To adjust height, you have to remove the door panel/etc and the adjuster is in the center portion of the door. The Haynes manual shows it but not in good detail. Use caution that you do not jam the top of the glass to hard against the top/rear seals or they will wear rear fast.

On our 914 the bottom adjusters were not installed correctly and did not move the glass in/out so check that too.

You also might just consider trimming the seal. When I changed mine, the seal was a little longer than the old one (shrinkage?) This new length left the top sitting a little high in the back end and it didn't align anymore. A little trim on the end closest to the windsheald helped fix it.
