Better up yer ante ... even with 90K mi. on the clock, you ain't findin' a nice 1.8T quattro in yer neck o' the woods fer less than $7.5K+, and that's if you don't want a beater. Just ask my sister (in NY) and check NADA.

i picked up an 80k mile A4 Quattro for 6ish a few months ago. great driver, but no performance. I got the 2.8 It's a great car, but maintenance is not cheap. they have their share of problems too, fortunately all of that had been addressed on my car by the previous owner (tie rods, airbag, timing belt, etc) i think the 1.8's had a sludge problem too. I got lucky with mine. I bought it from a Porsche owner, who bought it for his nanny. He had every record on the car since new. the day after i bought it, the idle adjuster went out, and the car kept stalling. It was a $400 bill, but the seller picked up the tab. | ||

Stay away from the '98 years.. TRUST ME.. The '02's are better made and thought out. TB change before 90k, Front control arm issues, cat converter's, Powers teering racks, CEL's..etc Take a walk through audizine.com..
