Angry Master brake cylinder grommets

Can someone help me? I am trying to put new grommet's in my brake master cylinder for the supply reservoir. I can not get them in if I have the supply line in and I can not get the supply lines in after I put them in. Please help.

ROTFL

You got to be kidding! Lets see how long did it take me to get mine in....one maybe two DAYS!! EACH!!

Wish I could help you man. This seems to be a chicken and the egg thing.

I dont know what I did. Just kept putting them in, then once they didnt pop out a short time later.

I think its in the lube you use.

I used rubber grease.

PS I had the grommets in first.

Wait! I just remembered!

There was a metal disc or washer under/in the grommet make sure its in properly. I had one cock-eyed and it caused problems.

If you compress the grommets (grommets have to be on the tubes) with a fuel injection hose type clamp and lube them with some caliper assembly grease they will pop in without much trouble.

Has to be the proper brake piston silicone grease! NO other will do or is safe.

Another way to install the brake lines and grommets is to assemble the two lines, grommets to the brake master cylinder while it is sitting on your work bench. Now thread the two lines up through the sheet metal located above where the MC is mounted. Since the plastic lines are preformed to fit in that location, they went into place very easily. Lyle
