can't hold idle when warm

not sure what happened, i was working on it last night and she was running like a champ, but this morning on my way to work it really started to "buck"as i let off on put on the gas.... now i know that my throttle switch has been have a little bit of a problem for a while but what really worried my is when i got off the freeway i had to hold the gas down to keep her from dyeing...???... i have never have a warm idle problem with this car before. i ran new wire to my AAR last night as well as replaced the cracked and broken wire to the oil pressure sensor, any ideas as to what would be causing it to not hold idle when warm... it doesn't seem to matter if i open the idle screw all the way or not, first guess is that I'm running way rich or something, but not sure what would cause it to just start having problems immediately.
.

what year model, what kind of FI, Djet or Ljet?

If it's Djet, which throttle screw are you talking about, the one on the throttle body, or the one on the ECU?

The throttle switch has 2 functions basically,i think, enrichment when throttling down, and throttle off (idle). What kind of problems were you having with it?

its a 74 2.0 d-jet, and i finally got it to hold idle, at least some times... but i had to turn the knob on the ecu all the way clockwise to get it to even sometimes hold idle, the idle screw on the throttle body was the one that i was talking about before.... i also found out under further investigation that when the person whom owned the car before me did the fuel pump relocation ( which they did all wrong to Begin with) the left the original fuel filter up front and added another one in the back.. the one up from hasn't been changed in a long time.. i was hoping after i saw that that it was just clogged and creating back pressure causing it to run rich, I'm working on that this morning. just in-case that doesn't work, any other ideas???

back pressure, not likely, i would think, unless he put the filter in the return line......

the two most likely causes , i think, for rich running, are a leaking MPS or a leaking cold start valve. First check the MPS. Pull the vacuum line that goes to it off at the intake plenum, and pull a vacumm on it to see if it's sealed, using a vacuum pump you can borrow at autozone or simiar places. If you can't get that, just suck on it to see if it it's sealed as a simple test, if it fails that you certainly need a vacuum tester.. Continuing flow is a bad thing. I would check for that first.

The screw on the ECU controls IDLE ONLY, and that's if the TPS (throttle position sensor) is set properly. coming off idle should provide good running if everything else is functioning in the FI system. So start there .

Hope that it's a leaky cold start valve, cause you can block off the fuel supply and still drive it.....

well i fixed and it runs beter than ever... that other fuel filter i was telling you about was hooked up to the return line and it must have been clogged,(it appers that the person that owned the car previous to me was an absolute idiot... i have already had to fix 5 or 6 different things that either wern't hooked up correctly or just wasn't hooked up period..) it also looks like while i was under there that the fuel pump is just hooked up to a 12v acc, that would explain why it doesn't ever shut of with the key turned. kind of changing the top here for a minuet, one thing i did notice is that the white line comeing from my relay board that i think is suppoed to conect to the AAR does not have power.. not even at the board itself.. you guys think the board is bad or is there some where prior to the harness that could be having a problem?? if that makes since..

I would check and clean the fuse contacts, and also check the fuel pump relay.
