rich running 912E

What do I need to look for/adjust for the mixture control as it runs too rich and smells of unburnt gas at idle. It seems rich from startup cold to warm running - CHT sensor or? I do not think the cold start valve is leaking - or just injectors that do not atomize fuel properly.

Had been sitting for a while, and going through it all - fresh tune-up and valve adj.

Ideas?

Thanks

39 views and not a solid response - has this happened to any of you?

Thanks

I would say its the CHT as that controls the AFR when cold to hot. Swap in a new one as they are cheap.

I'd run a bottle of Techron through it before putzing with the injection parts, if it ran well before it sat.

I will be checking the cht sensor and the aft, and am running techron and drygas through it to try and clean it up. I have no idea how it ran before I got it, or the service history. It has 165k on it - seems to be well taken care of.

use a Ohm meter to check the CHT cold then stick it in boiling water to check its hot readings. Its a 012 number so it should be the same as the 914 2.0l one ohm wise. See Brad Anders djet page or Ratwell's bus website for the speciific numbers. Ratwells site is Ljet specific so that might also help more.
