piston size

I am about to start an engine rebuild on my 1.8, I was just going to do a top end rebuild but after reading a couple posts I have decided to split the case and go a little further into it. I was wondering if anyone has a chart or knows acceptable size differences for the pistons and cylinders. If the pistons and cyl. are still good then I can replace just the rings and my rebuild will take less time, or should I just hold off and install new p/c?
