Front Shift Rod Installation

Any veterans out there got a quick tip on the best way to re-install the front shift rod. Running it through the engine mount beam and the firewall doesn't seem to give me enough angle to install the rod into its intended location. Does the engine mount beam have to be removed?

Thanks in advance for all responces,

Greg

Yes, you need to support the engine with a jack and remove the engine mount bar.

There is just enough room to get the shift rod in with the engine still in place but the mount bar removed.

Thanks James, I got it out without removeing the mount beam and just thought maybe there was something that I was overlooking on the install.
