Need some help on how to remove trim and source some new
 

I am stripping my car for paint and am having trouble getting the chrome trim off from around the targa bar sail area. Does anyone have a diagram showing how all these pieces are held on? I don't want to for them and bend them up in the process.

Also, does anyone know of any sources for new windshield chrome trim? Are host lists it as temporarily unavailble. I know I am going to want fresh trim there after the repaint.

Any recommendations, heads up, or notes on tricks I will need to know int he stripping process will be appreciated.

You start removing the trim by removing the nut inside the fender well that holds the bottom of the trim on. Well, it holds a clip that holds the trim. Remove the little screw on the upper part of the side trim, and you can slide (I think!) the trim off the clip.

I do not recall how the upper piece is held on; it may have screws at the ends?

It might be hidden under some gunk. At least mine was.

On second thought....forget about all that time and effort getting the car ready for paint. You should just sell the car to me. :)

I was thinking I would have to sell the car, but then I found the nuts and got the trim off, so I guess I'll keep it.

Strip down is going well, but just found some rust at the front, bottom of the passenger side sail. There seemed to have been some bondo like gunk thrown up from underneath (not applied fromt he outside) that trapped mositure in the area. Not too bad though and should be easy to fix prior to painting.

I can't wait to see fresh Signal Orange!

That stuff behind the sail is factory installed for some reason.
