Look in the KII CAR magazines. Onr of the mags had a year end special listing all the kit car manufactures and what kits they made. I remember at least 4 or 5 for the 914, and check out the 914 Lite web site the owner has a front lid that does away with the headlight doors. It is from Auto Atlanta but he mentions problems with fit and that some fabrication work had to be done so the hood would fit. Also look in Excellence Porsche mag, there are a number of body companies that make I.M.S.A. and other racing legal body work for all those 914 racers out there. I have heard that A.I.R. is good but it came from second hand info. There is also a company that makes a "940" kit, if I remember right it makes the 914 into a slantnose 930 look. The same company does convertables and chevt and mazda engine convertions. I also saw a 914 about 4 years ago before I knew what a 914 was (I used to think they were a Fiat) at a racing scool event. I'm sure if you go to a local road racing or autocross track durring a test/tune session you could find some funky looking 914's and ask the owners about them. If you do find something leave the info here and also does anyone know the best way to remove 914 front fenders?

One of these days I will learn how to type. Anyway it is Kit Car not KII CAR and there are about 3 different magazines out there, some focus on VW based kits while others focus on Cobra/tube chassis kits.

Well this is it!!!
Taking this week off to put the kit on! The drivers side is cut and mostly fitted, but still needs some fine tuning. I will be cutting the drivers side front fender in the moring, (not to early, I am on vaction after all!) Keep you all posted on the progress as I go on! Overall impression of the kit thus far is pretty good, I will keep you posted on this impression as I fit each part. I'm kind'a picky so it will no doubt take me some time to be totaly finished with it, but the major work will be complete this week! With all the rubber, breaking hardware and new restraint system that Tom and Wayne at pelican Parts are aquiring on my behalf will complete this phase of the operation, the next being the new power plant. All for now, Randy all for now |

What does one use to ATTACH the FiberGlass fenders to a 914. I have some 916 flares and was told CHEMWELD was the thing to use but can't find it anywhere.

What ever happened to the RAYCO body kit project? I've been searching the site but could not find any photos of Randy's project. If anyone remembers seeing any photos from this project, is there a web site for them?
Thanks, Odie |

I also ordered the RAYCO Kit and will be posting pics of the rebody.
I talked to Dan today and the molds are done and he will start shipping soon. I just like how the kit looks I searched around and have heard both "good" and "bad" about the kit, but i have talked at lenght with dan and feel this is the kit for me. |

Good luck with the kit. Please post some pictures and info as the install progressess. There is so little info on the board about body kits. My 914 waits patiently until I get a good workshop setup for an ameture restoration and body mods.
