Car supporting points/ Lift points

Hi and thanks in advance,

I just got my new (to me of course) 71 off the car carrier and into the garage. I'm going to replace the front & rear suspension bushings ang tranny/motor mounts, brakes ect,ect..

What I'd like to know is what are the best locations to put the car up on considering I'm going to remove the front a-arms and rear trailing arms. The pan is in very nice shape and I'd prefer not to dent it up. Any suggestions and PICTURES would be great!

Thanks Again!

the four donuts on the main part of the body pan...look in the tech section if you need a diagram of the underside.

Hank,

I see you're in MA. I spent some time in Waltham working a contract job in 200. Loved the area. You pertty close to Yankee Candle? I hear they got rid of the car museum.

Cool 914

Hi Gary,

Yes on the car museum. The owner sold when it grew to the big international co it is today. Can't blame him that he took his toy's with him. I'm about 20 minutes from Yankee, we actually sell them our dog biscuits in Deerfield and there Williamsburg store.
Thanks again for the help!

Phil

On the long, narrow areas on the diagram, you should use a long piece of wood to help spread the load out over a larger area.

The "donuts" are fine for a single jack-stand, as are the front A-arm mounting points.
