Relay Question

There is a relay under the dash, it is the blinker relay, i think. (I took it off and the blinker did not work) It clicks nonstop, but everything works fine. Except the car wont start with the key, and sometimes not even with the switch I installed. but I think thats a starter problem.. What would make a relay click constantly like that?

The brake warning light. The same relay runs the turn signals, the hazard flashers, and the brake warning light in the dash. If the handbrake is pulled up, or if the master cylinder switch has been tripped and not reset, that light will blink any time the key is "on". So the relay will click.

Thanks for your help!

The switch is on the master cylinder. The easiest way to find it is to remove the "gravel pan" in the front of the car. Look at the master cylinder; there should be one or two wires going to part of it. That part is the switch. There should be a rubber "nipple" on the switch; press it and that should reset the sucker. After the first time, you'll be able to find it just by reaching in through the wheel well.

If that doesn't do it, make sure that the handbrake handle goes all the way down and presses the button down underneath it.

And if that doesn't do it, start checking for shorts to ground on those two circuits.

Hello

Resetswitch is on the MBC. It is a little red pin looking out on the switch. Can be reached without removing the pan.
