Injector Flow Rate

Does anybody know what the flow rate is for the "green" fuel injectors? Specifically the ones used in the '75-'76 2L
(Bosch # 0 280 150 038)

No - I've never seen this figure published anywhere. The only figure I have for D-Jet cars is for the 1.7L injectors (0 280 160 009) at 265 cc/min (26.5 lb/hr).

Hello

Those datas where puplished in several books.

I have the Kaesedorf Gemischbildung Vol IV.

The Injectors flow are as following:
Black: 265 ccm/minute
Yellow: 265 ccm/m
Blue: 318 ccm/m
Green: 380 ccm/m

Meesured at 2,0 bar 3 Volt and 0,15 mm +/- 0,05 mm lift.

Black and Yellow are identical in flow only VW used Yellow injectors. As far I remeber the Yellow ones had some internal upgrades.

Wow, great information, Roland! Perhaps others have seen this data, but I haven't come across it. I'll add it to my D-Jet parts web page today.

Roland, you list only one "green" injector, which would be for the 2.0L. But there were two 2.0L injectors that were used, the 0 280 150 019 for the 1973 - 1974 models, and the 0 280 150 038 on the 1975 -1976 models. I had heard a rumor that the 038 injector had a higher flow rate than the 019 injector. Does your reference make any distinction between these two injectors?

thanks,

Brad Anders

Hello

As far I remeber the ordernumber changed as Porsche used the same injectors like Mercedes.

Generally over the time the injectors get a improved coil and therfore can use a stronger valve seat coil with allows higher rev use, a better nozzle and a different internal mesh filter ( needed as the lead went down and alcahol got supstituded ), same reason is why the black changed to yellow.

The newer injectors can run on lower pressures and have several other benefits. They can be mixed/updatet with the old injectors. Avoid mixing generations or downmixing first gen on secound generation ECU ( With the CO screw outside and the other injector triggering ( buffered ?)).

You also can find injectors in Opel, BMW, Volvo, Jaguar and some Aston Martins.

Avoid using yellow D-jets on L jetronic or digifant injectors as they will kill the brain.

( L Jets have 16 Ohms versus 2,5 D Jet )

Grüsse
