Talking more info. on my second 914!!

Well, just got back from looking at the other 914 that I have practically bought! I have found out that it is a '76, but still not sure about the engine. The previous owner said that it ran when he parked it about 4 years ago, but it had an oil consumption problem. Don't know if it is using it or burning it. If everything goes as planned, it will be MINE on Tuesday!!! I tried to upload a couple of pics of it, but can't get them to work. I will keep trying and post them when I get them to work!

Hmmm, has it been sitting in that field for 4 years, or was it just placed there for the picture?

Thinking rust monster if the former...

It has been sitting there for about that long! I haven't found any rust yet, but I haven't gotten the nerve to crawl under it where it is! Just from what I could find crawling around it on my hands and knees, I couldn't find any rust, but that doesn't mean anything!

Howdy, Pardner!
I see y'all are from Texas. Well, you know that some parts of the Lone Star state git a little rain. And 914's with old rubber seals sittin' outside like a herd don't keep water out so good. So before you put your brand on that little heifer, I'd tie my rope around the floormats and check underneath. Could be you'd have some evidence of an unwanted waterin' hole down there!
