I am in the proceess of cleaning and resealing my gas tank.As I went to remove the
fuel line fitting and screen I noticed it seemed to be soldered to the tank fitting. Has any one had this problem and how can I go about removing the fitting and screen and have a good seal after I re-install the fitting. |

I didn't have that problem, I just unscrewed the nut on the outside of the tank and the fuel tube and filter slipped right out.
Are you sure it's soldered or does it just look soldered? HTH |

Find a local Volkswagen dealer and asked for the part there. I just finished putting the same piece in my 914. It is working fine.

Find a Volkswagen dealer that deals in parts for the old bugs. The parts are identical. I just purchased one three weeks ago and put in my car. I purchase the part from Bug Performance in Sunnyvale, Ca.
