electrical questions

I just bought my first 914 recently and after a few repairs I am almost ready to drive it. I just have a couple of questions:
1. Where is the temperature gauge sensor located on the engine? mine does not seem to work.
2. What does the fifth fuse from the left side of the fusebox do? Mine is blown but everything seems to work. The car has carbs so this may be part of the mystery.
thanks in advance

The temp sensor was installed originally in cars with center consoles, and also in 2.0s that did not have center consoles.

The sender is above the "taco plate"--the left-front sump plate which has two bolts holding it on. If there is a sender there, the plate will have a rubber boot in the middle and a wire going up through that boot. If there's no boot, no hole, and no wire, then there's no sender.

Fuse ratings and functions can be found here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/914/technical_specs/914_electrical_fuses.htm . Depending on how you count, the 5th one is either the left parking light fuse, or the fuse for the wipers, horn, fresh air blower, and cigarette lighter.
