Wheels, how tall and wide!

I don't want to name any names, but Mark R. we will call him, no, no, lets' call him M. Robinson, that's better, posted a picture of his 928 with some big wheels on it, and it is starting to bother me. Has anyone put 17 or even 18" wheels on a 914 or 914-6 without fender flares? There are a couple of 18" wheels I think would look great on my ride, but i am nervous about trying to fit something. I am not a track guy, so don't start with the performance sucking ability of taller wheels. i am going for looks, and looks alone as long as i don't have to modify the car. Any ideas, and or pictures?

I wouldn't go with anything more than 16x6. It looks to funky, like a redneck 4x4. If you put taller rims and keep the stock suspension hieght, you also loose your suspension travel and bottom out on bumps along with with bump steer.
