Question Euro P&C's vs. Big Bore

For a 2.0L engine with stock fuel injection, I've read that Euro pistons will add about 5hp. What type of horsepower gain can be expected from 96mm pistons & cylinders? How does the quality or durability compare? Also, wouldn't the weight of 96mm pistons be different and cause balance problems?

As long as the pistons/pins are equal in weight with each other they will not change the balance of an engine. With the crank throws opposite each other the rod/piston weight doesn't matter like in a v-8.
Some of the 96mm P/Cs have a reputation of poor quality. If the choice is German 94mm euro pistons or cheap 96mm P/Cs, I think I would go with the euro pistons or save longer for a high quality 96mm set. I am on a budget so my 2L is going together with some good used low mileage euro P/Cs.
