Not that I'd recommend AA over Pelican, but AA recently sent me an online specials email, including all types of lenses (US, Euro or Italian) for $39.50/pair.

Italian order page:
http://www.automobileatlanta.net/action.lasso?-database=Items%20database&-layout=web%20layout&-response=record_detail.lasso&-operator=eq&serial_number=23555&-search

Euro order page:
http://www.automobileatlanta.net/action.lasso?-database=Items%20database&-layout=web%20layout&-response=record_detail.lasso&-operator=eq&serial_number=23556&-search

US order page:
http://www.automobileatlanta.net/action.lasso?-database=Items%20database&-layout=web%20layout&-response=record_detail.lasso&-operator=eq&serial_number=23557&-search

If you order from AA, do let me know if you actually receive them relatively quickly... I may consider getting a pair myself.

ACK!

With all due respect to Pelican Parts (I just ordered some brake parts; was it guilt?), I ordered the clear lenses from AA too.

The thing that burns me with AA is their overly high shipping rates ($9 from Marietta to Tampa? For featherweight lenses? Come on ...), with less-than $8 for PP to ship me those parts from CA that weigh more! Doh!

campbellcj 06-11-2001 06:01 PM

Would you guys have ordered from Pelican if the online catalog showed this part (clear lenses)? Wayne...hint hint...

Chris C.

AA-free for 2 years, and damn proud of it

JmuRiz 06-11-2001 06:54 PM

I've never given thought to clear turn signals...but if Pelican did have them in stock I might have to add them in as a bonus to myself on my next order http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/biggrin.gif

Nathan
PS: Would you have to get amber bulbs for these?

thanks this really helped, i might order them from AA if Pelican doesn't get them in, (sorry but i really want this part) and regarding the question with if you would need amber bulbs and the answer is yes, if you live in california, check your local laws

SteveStromberg 06-12-2001 06:39 AM

Go for it, lets see New ones for $30 each plus $4 to ship or $39 ea plus $8 shipping go for those AA lens.
BTW I painted the housings White and the lens look white because of the white paint reflecting thur the lens they look slick. Steve

JmuRiz 06-12-2001 07:37 AM

Steve,
So did you make your clear lenses or did you get some and are reselling them? If you made them I'd like to know how, thanks.

I bet they keep an eye on this GREAT site and saw people wanted them and raised the price.. I wouldn't put it past boys AA.

Rouser 06-15-2001 11:32 AM

It would seem everything is on the up-n-up, because my plas-teek has been ticked the $48 cost and they're on their way.

Advised a friend in Port St. Lucie about the sale (the one who had them stolen off his 914 in the driveway) and it's same-same with him.

I guess we'll see.

JmuRiz 06-15-2001 03:51 PM

Where do you all get your amber bulbs from? I'm interested in the look but I'd like to be legal too. By the way, is Pelican going to offer these soon (hint hint) Thanks

you can get amber bulbs from any autoparts store such as autozone, pepboys, or any place else like that.

Rouser 06-18-2001 11:40 AM

The new clear lenses just hit the doorstep, and they seem to be the OEM-style Hella units attached to them I-tral-leeon furrin' 914's.

Gonna find some metric Torx-type screws to mount these puppies down with, just to keep the honest man honest.

Just in case you want to see how they look with the inside of the huosing painted with see:

Unfortunately I know what one clear lense looks like. I received one in the mail, instread of 2. I am supposed to get the other one (shipping mistake)....let me see 3 days ago! Still haven't gotten the other, I hope it's in the mail. I think the one I have on looks mighty cool, I'll post pics when I get both.
