LSD or One Tire Fire?

I got my "new" car running pretty good, and a friend asked if I could burn out. Well considering the tires are dry rotted it left a 30 foot patch at only about 4000 RPM. The question is the car left two tracks. I always thought that this means the car has a limited slip differential but does that only apply to solid rear axle cars? I'm pretty sure the engine and trans were rebuilt by a local dealer so it is possible the PO threw that kind of money into the car.

I've heard that you can also tell by jacking the car up and turning one wheel by hand and watch the other wheel, but what is the other wheel suposed to do? Go the same direction, or the opposite direction? Thanks. '75 2.0L

If the other wheel turns in the opposite direction, the differential is "open" (the most common in 914s).

If it either turns the same way or doesn't turn at all (forget which) the car has a limited-slip diff.
