Well, since there is a VA post going, I was just wondering about the Atlanta area as far as teeners go. I haven't seen many on the roads down here and only saw somewhere around 4 or 5 in Memphis, TN. By the way, mine is a very light greenish blue color. You could say turqoise, but the paint is called Ocean Jade Metallic...a '97 Porsche color. Oh, I live off of Howell Mill near 75 if anyone is interested. I would love to get together with a couple other guys for BS'ing.

I live in the Emory area and I drive a 1975 Silver 1.8L. There are three other's on my street. Two are bombed out wrecks that don't run but I was suprised at how many I see in this area.
I'm game for a mini-meet. Somebody take the lead and let's get together. kevin@hardboiledfullservice.com |

Give me a few weeks, and I will be able to join you all. I am restoring a '75 2.0 that sat unused for 10+ years. I live in the Crabapple area of NW Fulton County. I have cleaned her up, freed up the brakes, am replacing all hoses now, cleaning out the fuel tank, etc. this week.
Keep me posted as to when/where you will meet, and I will definitely join in! MJ Skinner |

Hello
I like this idea! If I may be so bold to make a suggestion, would a small roadtrip mesh in with a get-together? This faux Alpine Village up here is in need of something besides the constant weekend barrage of Harley-Davidson's trying to shatter the storefront windows with wrist snaps. The same curvey two-lane blacktops that attract the bikes are good for 914's as well. We might could even get Jake Raby to open up his shop and give us a peek at his latest jewel flat four. Plenty of restaurants and motels for those who want to make an overnight or two day thing out of it. And possibly most important, there are stores to shop in, for those of us who just can't leave that ball and chain back home. Just a thought. I would be equally interested in coming south to your general locations so I can show off my '75 rustbucket. Ed |

Ha! If you guys want a sneak peak of Jake's shop, I can give it to you. I was just there a couple of weeks ago dropping off some carbs for him...and yes, Jake, I still remember that I owe you the other pieces. Give me a couple of days and I will get the little movie clips up on my website for ya. I might even get them up tonight.

I'm from B'ham. Maybe this get together might get my in the mood to finish my project and come up for a visit.
Is anyone going/been to the Petite Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Is it worth the drive or should I just watch it on Speedvision? Any seating I should get? |

Definitely come over for the Petite! You will see all the corners on Speedvision, but there is nothing like sitting on the fence in the esses (these corners are almost completely blind to the drivers as they've just climbed a steep hill from turn 1), or the hairpin where you can virtually lean over the cars as they make a tight right hander! I have not missed a Petite since Mr. Panoz started running them, and the improvements he has made to the track for both the participants and the fans is incredible! Road Atlanta is now definitely one of the premier road racing circuits in the world. Recommend you get the 5 day Superticket which includes paddock pass. There are no reserved grandstands. Let me know if you plan to attend, and I will get out there early on Wednesday of race week to nail down a spot.

It sounds like a great idea to have you guys stop by....We seldom actually have 914s here, but we do have tons of the engines.
Lets get together and devise a plan, and start getting ready. This is my super busy season, and we are behind, however we have several beasts in the works, that will surely lift an eye brow.... Currently every car I have is down for experimantl tuning, maybe I will have the RPM beast together for a run acroos "blood" mountain. Jake Raby www.aircooledtechnology.com |

BTW you should definitely go to the PLM. Incredible racing and PCA/Jim Ellis always has a Porsche corral available. I had the yellow 914 turbo there last year, might try to get the track car in this year.
Feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions. I'm the Peachstate PCA webmeister. ------------------ Mark Litherland http://members.rennlist.com/mlitherland |
