Where is the Alternator?
 

Yes, I am asking for help finding the alternator. I am new at this. Imagine your wife or girlfriend trying to fix her car and you can understand why I am asking this question. Not too bad though since I managed to have the car running all of last summer.

This summer, I took it for a spin around the block. When I parked in the driveway and tried to get it started, it wouldnt. I did the same thing as before, hooked up the battery pack and got it started again. As I went to back out of the driveway, the car stalled and smoke came out of the fuse panel. I had put in higher fuses because I thought it would help, Dough! It was the battery fuse that blew. The engine turns when I hook up the battery pack but there is no bang. I replaced the spark plugs and the car has new injectors. The fuel tank is clean and full. There is new oil and all electrical connections, grounds, relays and fuses are intact. My only guess is a bad alternator from having to use the battery pack to start it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Smoke coming out of the fuse panel is Not Good. You may have fried some wires, which will not make you a happy person... There is no "battery fuse" in these cars; the positive battery cable goes straight to the main fuse panel (and a couple of other places) with no fuse to protect it.

The alternator, to answer your original question, is at the right-front corner of the engine. You can see the alt in the following exploded diagram (in the pic, the front of the car is toward the bottom-right corner of the picture) :
