front trunk stuck

How do I open the front trunk?

The cable seems to be rusted in place. I've tried turning the key clockwise, and also tried turning it counter-clockwise... when I pull with the key in either position it does not move. I'd really like to see what is in the front trunk of my parts car.

any suggestions?

Remove the front bumper(2 bolts inside each fenderwell). There is a round hole in the middle of the front of the car, like the size of a dime maybe, may or may not have plastic plug in it. You can pop the latch with a screwdriver through that hole.

That is a rusty sounding car. Take it completely apart ASAP, may save some parts from damage that you can salvage.

The key should be up and down for unlock.

If the cable is broken remove the front bumper. Locate the bolt pattern for the lock in the front nose panel. In the middle of the bolt pattern is a rubber grommet about a 1/2 inch in diameter. Remove the grommet and you can access the lock release from there. Stick a screw driver in the hole (angled to the passenger side) and move the bellcrank to the drivers side. Presto!
