Installing sensors on the motor

I finally have my 14 running like it should, however without a temp. gauge and an oil pressure gauge, I feel like I am driving blind. Does anyone know where I can find a cheap gauge set for oil temp, oil pressure, and amps from the battery, a fuel pressure gauge would also be nice. I have seen the gauge sets at Autozone and they are not bad being that they are mostly mechanically drive. Does the 914 motor need special pressure and temp sensors and if so where can I find them. If not, how and where do I go about installing the sensors on the motor.
Thanks
Cliff

Check out the optional center gage cluster. I beleive that there is a tech article on this. On some cars, the tunnel wiring is already there...

Some cars came w/stock Volts, Oil Temp and a clock. However, the orginal size in no longer available. Luckly, they are easy to find on the used market.

Pelican sells new VDO gages that work well. but reguire a little modification to fit into the stock configuration.

I installed a VDO 2 gauge cluster where the ashtray went in my '71 nearly 30 years ago. Looks almost factory and no one's going to smoke it in anyway! They make (or did) a rubberized holder that fits perfectly in the space. Hope to do it again on a '73 2.0 I'm restoring...

Besides Pelican, there are several guage companies with lots of parts, kits and senders. I would go with Pelican for the 914 support. Check out http://www.continentalimports.com/vdo_line.html
