Question Vinyl Repair Kit?

I've got a few small tears in my seat bolsters(? sides). I was wondering what can I do to stop/slow these tears from getting bigger?

Are those vinyl repair kits something to look at? Any experience with them? The tears I have are all smaller than 1/4 in length.

I used to use crazy glue to patch motorcycle seats.

I'm looking into this now. I have 2 tiny tears in the passenger side bolster on the door side. I'm looking for a local upholstry shop to stich-in replacement vinyl, which is not as expensive as new covers. I am also going to consider new padding since technology has marched on quite a bit in this area.

Repair kits are available (search the web) and you can take the covers off and do a patch with special tape on the inside first, followed by the vinyl repair seam filler. Try Eastwood Automotive at http://www.eastwoodcompany.com

You know, I had seats that were split and had them reupholstered for $400 CDN, or about $275US. (for both, not each) The waffle weave stuff was end-of-the-roll VW or ford truck vinyl headliner and the job looks very near to stock. Maybe I got a bargain, but your local upholstery guy might surprise you with off season cash deal pricing.

A member(Jack Olsen) on the 911 board posted this site that may be of some interest. He also added that you should make sure that they dye the leather all the way through

here is the 911 post that it was mentioned:

I was thinking about recovering the back pad in leather and at this price how can one not?

Im sure one side would cover the backpad and bolsters on both seats, buy two and redo the door panels and in front of the dash.
