I bought 914 a few months ago an original 73 2.0 for $1200 in need a bit of mechanical TLC. (This is my 4th 914 - I don't own the others anymore. I love these cars as I keep coming back.) Anyway, i got away with restoring a few things along with a buddy of mine using a friends garage and lift - and I had to take it in to a shop for one emergency repair. It's running pretty well now, but now I want to have more done to it that I am not capable of doing on my own and find that Paul Weir no longer exists (who was my prefered mechanic in the past) - any advice for 914-friendly mechanics in the Bellevue/Redmond area?

Hmmm, I do not know of any in that area. Try John Walker in Phinney Ridge or Denny Aker's on Broadway in Seattle. I know Aker's fixes lots of 914's, there are several in the shop all the time.

Sean, glad you asked. Redmond European is in Redmond and the owner Monty is the best Porshe mechanic in the state. Call 425-376-2655 and tell Monty Neal sent you.

I have heard that Akers on Broadway is good. John walker's Workshop on Phinney ridge is strictly 911's according to the amn himself, but he can get you parts in a day!
