Fitting engine lid

I cannot get my engine lid to fit well at all. Is there a secret? I have moved it around as much as I can. The lid wants to hit the rear trunk lid.

Try adjusting the rear trunk lid. It's easier to mess with that than the engine lid IMHO. An extra set of hands to wrestle the trunk is a good idea, good luck http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/biggrin.gif

Sometimes the "L" brackets that the engine lid bolt to break their welds at the top and bend rearward, causing a clearance problem with the lid-to trunk clearance. I'd check those welds

I had the same problem once. The passenger side L-bracket cracked at the fillet and bent downward. It shifted the lid to the point where it wouldn't close unless I pushed the lid forward and then downward. I ended up removing the lid, had my buddy re-weld the bracket and then we put the cover back on. The cover didn't want fit well at all so I made the slotted holes a bit bigger on the engine cover. Two sets of hands was the key though. I just couldn't get it to fit by myself.
