Need help identifying cam - Please!
I just purchased some parts for my rebuild and included was a cam, lifters, bearings, etc
the cam is new and is stamped 'Weber' and '520H' on the sprocket end. the box is labelled with a marker FC440HP. Lifters marked FC472, springs marked VT511. I've looked in the new web-cam catalog, and no such part no seems to exist. Anyone recognize any of those numbers? TIA, [This message has been edited by DDS (edited 08-29-2001).] |

Hi Dave,
As far as I know the term WebCam does not refer to Weber camshafts. Weber is or was a manufacturer of a variety of cams for VW Type I engines. I'm not sure if they ever made any cams for VW Type IV engines. Check out this link for a nice overview of cams for Type I (incl. some of the more common Weber Cams): http://www.phnet.fi/public/hefor1/vwinfoca.htm You might also want to post your text at the Shop Talk Forum (e.g. type4rum). These guys have a lot of knowledge about tuning parts for VW engines. Someone there might be able to identify your Weber cam... ------------------ '74 Porsche 914 2.0l '90 VW Vanagon 1.7l Diesel [This message has been edited by yoh!!! (edited 08-29-2001).] |
