I've got a '75 2.0L that "had" the air compressor and EGR valve. Both were not functional so I just removed them.
The EGR valve's vacuum line was connected to the throttle body connection that is pointed towards the rear of the car. The dizzy's vacuum connection (the one that points at the dizzy) is connected to the throttle body connection that points towards the front of the car (different than tech article?). Now that I've removed the EGR valve AND now have two connections on the throttle body, should I connect BOTH of the dizzy's vacuum connections up per the tech article on this site or just plug one of them on the throttle body and leave the second dizzy one alone? Finally, with my dizzy not connected per the tech article what would this be doing? [This message has been edited by RustyWa (edited 09-01-2001).] |

First of all, I am assuming that you have the stock distributor. Both lines from the vacuum pot attached to the distributor should be hooked up for vacuum advance and retard. The nipple pointing at the dizzy attaches to the back side of the TB and the other one attaches to the front. They are different size lines so it should be pretty easy to get it right.

So even though my distributer only had ONE of the vacuum lines from the vacuum pot connected to the throttle body before and the second one with nothing connected, it's ok to to attach it up?
I'm assuming the distributer is stock from a '75 2.0L, I haven't checked yet. |
