Solution to ugly bumper guards..
 
For those of you that want to get rid of your big bumper guards, look at the pictures below. These are off a later 914 (75 - 76) Had to drill some holes because they didn't match the existing ones, but overall look better than the old ones!

Seen that done, looks nice. OR you can use "stove bolts" aka round headed bolts. Put htem in the holes after you take them off....eliminate all the bumper tits....

Cool. I was just thinking about finding an early (no tits) front bumper for my 73. I really am not fond of those things.

And I know from experience that they don't do #$!^ in a crash anyway. Mostly there just for dolts who don't know how to park, I guess.

Maybe I'll try the carriage bolt idea first - good idea Zois.
