Air flow sensor

Has anyone ever adjusted the spring tension on the inside of the air flow sensor, the one I had already installed would buck when driving at a counstant rate with low rpm's, I installed the spare I had, which fixed that problem, but now after the car warms up when I bring the throttle up over 1500 and release the throttle the idle does not drop as it should, but takes about 15 seconds to get back to the 850 rpm's I have the idle set for. The car runs great except for this little problem. I do not have a vacuum leak I know for sure. Any ideas?

Your sure the pedal assy and and throttle cable are working freely?

Is do then you can adjust the spring tention, a "hot-rod" trick is to put the spring back a few notches to make it weaker which gives quicker throttle response. Maybe your spring is broken, take the old one apart first to see how it works, ,it look s like a clock spring.

The spring does not apear to be broken, I did adjust it a few notches tighter and now seems to work much better. I think the hold-down clamp may have slipped.
