looking for a sound opinion on selling

Ok, heres the deal. I'm looking to sell my car. I think this will be easiest to explain if I tell a short story of the car.

I bought the car in Cincinnati when I was 16 ( i actually bussed at a restaurant and bought the car with my hard earned money for $4,900. It was a pretty exciting time.)

I poured any and all of my money into the car until i went to college in sc, my moms old fiance owned a car shop so he did all of the repairs for free, replaced all the seals and everything in the engine as well as many other new parts.

I'm finishing up school in sc looking for jobs in dc, new york etc. The cars just not practicle for me. I have a little 84 318 that i drive everywhere. I'm looking to sell the 914 in SC(i go to school at coastal carolina). I've posted a couple months ago about the transmission just shifting over the the right and now i cant drive it. (i hope its an easy repair, there just isnt anyone down here that can fix it. i found one place but it was a hole in the wall, didnt really trust them.)

I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to sell as is and maybe how much I should expect for it. 115K good condition, repaired rust in battery tray, probably some in the rocker panels under side is clean. I love this car but its just not practical at this point.

I guess what im asking is should i sell it as is? what should i expect for a selling price? and anyone interested?

Thanks a lot,

-Rob

selling

You might try ebay, look and see what similar cars are going for, alittle comparing and go from there.... good luck

Why not try fixing the shifter yourself? Could be a simple adjustment. Selling a car no one can test drive could cost you thousands.

if you have not replaced the shifter bushings since you bought the car, do so.

Do you not have a place to keep it? If it is paid for, can you store it somewhere, you know drain the fluids and put it on jack stands in a friend/family member garage. You will regret it if you sell it.
